The Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ According to Matthew the Apostle
The best known of the four Gospels, Matthew gives an inspired, unforgettable account of Jesus’ life, with some of the most famous, influential words ever recorded, including Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, Olivet Discourse and Great Commission. This Gospel pays particular attention to how Jesus fulfilled amazing Old Testament prophecies about the coming of the Jews’ Messiah made over 20 centuries - from his miraculous birth through his death and resurrection.

2. The Gospel of Mark
The Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ According to Mark the Evangelist
The oldest and shortest Gospel to be written, Mark highlights the amazing three-year ministry of Jesus, beginning with his baptism in the Jordan River by his cousin, John the Baptist, and his 40-day temptation in the wilderness by Satan. Mark is packed with stories demonstrating that Jesus truly was the Son of God in the flesh - with divine power over death, disease and the devil. Here you will meet the Jesus who awed his disciples and the crowds with his miracles and teaching.

3. The Gospel of Luke
The Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ According to Luke the Historian
Written by the only Gentile writer of the New Testament books, Luke is a much-loved Gospel that starts with the most famous account of Jesus’ birth to a virgin in Bethlehem and provides details about his life and ministry than we learn nowhere else. The author, a doctor by profession, was careful to document his writing from a variety of sources and notes, for instance just how Jesus proved to his disciples after his resurrection that he was not a ghost, but had risen physically from death.

4. The Gospel of John
The Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ According to John the Apostle
The most unique of the four Gospels, John doesn’t give a detailed chronology of Jesus’ life and ministry. Its purpose is to present the truth about him in such a way that Jews and Gentiles will be led to put their faith in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God in order to be saved and have eternal life. Fully one-quarter of the Gospel is devoted to the events of Jesus’ crucifixion and his rising from the dead to the utter joy and amazement of his disciples.

5. The Book of Acts
The Miraculous Spread of Christianity Upon the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit
Written by Luke, Acts picks up right where Luke’s Gospel ends. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus instructed his followers to wait in Jerusalem for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who is poured on Pentecost - the birthday of the Christian Church. The early church then grew with amazing speed from Jewish roots until we find Paul preaching the Gospel to the Gentiles in Rome, center of the world’s most powerful empire.

He then explained how God saves sinners by faith through the gift of his Son who died to pay for sin - and rose again in victory!
