Molon Labe: How the Second Amendment Guarantees America's Freedom
Who is trying to disarm "We the People" ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´å when the Bill of Rights guarantees the right to keep and bear arms?
Molon Labe (ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«MO-lon la-BAYÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´), loosely translated from the Greek as ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«Come and take it,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ was the defiant response of Spartan King Leonidas I to Persian invader Xerxes I at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. A cry of bravery echoing down through the ages, the motto appears to this day on the emblem of the Greek First Army Corps. Inspired by Tea Party co-founder Dr. Edwin Vieira's book ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«The Sword and Sovereignty,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ this film features interviews with former Texas congressman Ron Paul; columnist Patrick J. Buchanan; broadcaster Alex Jones; former Constitution Party presidential candidate Pastor Chuck Baldwin; executive director of Gun Owners of America Larry Pratt; and Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes.
ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«Most people think the Second Amendment is the only place in the US Constitution that discusses the ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥right to keep and bear arms,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ" says producer James Jaeger. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«There are three other clauses that go into this ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥rightÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ and how WE THE PEOPLE and the Government are supposed to share the responsibility. ... MOLON LABE discusses how the nation's security is supposed to be allocated and shared.
"Simply calling oneself ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥militia,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ possessing firearms, and ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥playing soldierÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ in the woods,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ he explains, ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«does NOT make one part of ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥the Militia of the several StatesÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ [as protected by the Constitution]. That said, there is no constitutional authority to restrict true ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥MilitiaÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´å and that is the point of the Second Amendment. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ Indeed, the very fact that there are so many idiots who think [this] is all they have to do to be true ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥MilitiaÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ is probably one of the reasons this country does not HAVE a true ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎÌ¥MilitiaÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇ in any state at this time."
ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«The Militia of the several States," Jaeger explains, is a constitutional term for institutions or establishments that possess certain defined legal characteristics, including that they be organized, equipped, trained and disciplined according to statute (Article I, Section 8, Clauses 15 and 16).
History has demonstrated time and again that, to the degree citizens are unarmed or disarmed, government suppression and tyranny are inevitable. The Founders of the United States knew this lesson well. This is why the U.S. Constitution not only acknowledges and guarantees the "right to keep and bear arms" ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´å but the DUTY to be well-organized as state Militia reporting to their respective governors.
But this duty, as well as the Militia, is often misunderstood. As a result, a "gun-control lobby" has been steadily eroding the original intent of the Founders by passing unconstitutional gun control "laws," funding a standing global army and destroying the 300-year-old Militia system established by WE THE PEOPLE.
Molon Labe explores the "power of the sword" and how it guarantees America's freedom.

"If people don't want to be free, then all they have to do is farm out their security to the Department of Homeland Security,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ Jaeger advises. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«If they DO want to be free, the very first thing they should do is educate themselves on the principles set forth in the Constitution."
And that is why ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«Molon LabeÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ was filmed in the first place.
ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«Can you imagine sitting in a room with Stewart Rhodes, Chuck Baldwin, Ron Paul, and Larry Pratt, all discussing the necessity for a return to the Constitutional Militia of the several States? The very thought of it is exciting! But James has included even more. His movie also features Pat Buchanan, G. Edward Griffin, Jack Rooney, David R. Gillie, Alex Jones, and Dr. Edwin Vieira, Jr. That is an impressive lineup of powerful men who are devoted to the entire U.S. Constitution, as written, with emphasis on the Second Amendment. For an hour and a half, anyone who watches this film will have the nationÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇs most knowledgeable gun rights advocates talking freely about America, our roots in freedom, and how the Second Amendment is the answer to todayÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇs tyrannical General government in Washington D.C. That is an exciting thought.
ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å«Every American is duty-bound. We are the Militia, all of us, and as weÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇll see in the movie, the Constitution mandates it. Molon Labe! shows how we as Americans can take our country back, get back to personal freedom and self-responsibility, by honoring and living up to the Constitution. It is the consciousness of this nationÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇs founders, and it served us well until we let the General government grow too large and begin to run our lives.ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´ ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´å Elias Alias, editor, OathKeepers.org
