Editorial Reviews

ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇWatching this movie is a tremendous experience! It is made in the same vein as ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´Facing the Giants,ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìà ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´FireproofÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìà and ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´Courageous.ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìà It is unashamedly about honoring God and remembering to treat others the way one desires to be treated. The acting is superb and the story is realistic and riveting as it focuses on relationships and how they can sometimes go wrong. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ Any parent will especially be touched by this film. We gladly award this remarkable and inspiring movie five Doves and we would award it more if we could. It is a well-made inspirational story and features good writing, acting, music; the whole works. Don't miss this one!ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å« ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´å The Dove Foundation

ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇThe gentle, largely convincing story finds 18-year-old Grace Trey (an engaging AJ Michalka) leaving her Birmingham, Ala., hometown for Los Angeles after her father Johnny Trey (James Denton), a onetime rocker/bad boy turned music pastor, brings down the hammer on her musical aspirations and rebellious attitude. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ The filmmaker also shrewdly tempers GraceÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìàs pious dad; heÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìàs a flesh and blood guy who grows in believable, realistic ways. Denton (ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´Desperate HousewivesÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìà), quite moving here, inhabits Johnny with solidness and, well, grace. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ Ultimately, the movieÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìàs you-can-have-it-all resolution, foreshadowed in a nice speech by a devout record-company intern (Michael Welch) who befriends Grace, is not only uplifting but well-earned. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ it should satisfy its intended audience and maybe even bring a few new viewers into the flock.ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_Ì´å« ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´å Gary Goldstein, LA Times

ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´åÇEvery once in a while a movie comes along that captures the hearts of viewers without being overly flashy, raunchy, or raw. Honest and unpretentious, ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ_ÌÎå´Grace UnpluggedÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«Ì´Ìà is just that. ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ the type of movie that will comfort the fears of parents and capture the hearts of teenagers. This is all due to an honest script that drives the film through the use of sharp dialogue and effective pacing.
