With stunningly realistic special effects, you'll experience the exploits of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter, four siblings who find the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek at the country estate of a mysterious professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has been turned into a world of eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan, the children lead Narnia into a spectacular, climactic battle to be free of the witch's glacial powers forever!

About the Author

C.S. (Clive Staples) Lewis was one of the intellectual giants of the 20th century and arguably the most influential Christian writer of his day. His major contributions in literary criticism, children's literature, fantasy literature and popular theology brought him international renown and acclaim. He wrote more than 30 books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. Born in Belfast in 1898, Lewis served in BritainÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎÌ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ__ÌÎÌ_ÌÎ_ÌÎå«Ì´ÌàÌÎÌ_Ì´åÇÌÎå«ÌÎÌÊs armed forces during World War I and was wounded in the Battle of Arras. He was privately tutored until being awarded a scholarship to Oxford, where he later taught English literature for 29 years. During this time he evolved from the atheism of his teens to Christianity, citing the influence of his close friendship with fellow professors J.R.R. Tolkien and G.K. Chesterton. Lewis married late in life (at age 58) to Joy Davidman Gresham, an American writer fifteen years his junior, and finished out his career at Cambridge in 1958. He died in 1963 and is buried under a stone bearing the inscription "Men must endure their going hence."
