  Once an Arafat Man (Book)

The True Story of How a PLO Sniper Found a New Life

By: Tass Saada, Dean Merrill

Tass Saada was a PLO sniper and Arafat's chauffeur, a Muslim immersed in anti-Israeli activity. As a young man he came to America, where he started a family, changed his faith, and began reconciliation with Jews. Later on he returned to Qatar to face his family and former boss, Arafat, with stories from his new life in Christ. The encounters are astounding. You'll embrace Saada's engaging story. You'll be enthralled by his conversion and the biblical teaching regarding Arabs and Ishmael. You'll be encouraged by his changed life and the story of hope in reconciliation through Jesus. Don't miss this enlightening true story by Tass Saada, written with Dean Merrill.

Born in the Gaza Strip in 1951, Tass grew up a Palestinian refugee in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He learnt to hate Israel for its attitude to the Palestinian people. At the age of 17, Tass ran away from home to become a PLO sniper and chauffeur to his hero Yasser Arafat. In Tass’ autobiography ‘Once An Arafat Man’, he graphically describes the depth to which his hatred took him. He was a trained killer. His nickname was as brutal as his life – Jazzar, ‘butcher.’ (from the official website, Once and Arafat Man).

Later, Tass moved to America to escape the violence. He found work, got married, and completed his education. But anger still ruled his life until he was confronted by a Christian friend and mentor. Through this miraculous encounter, Tass finally came to believe in Christ. He recounts the story of his transformation in the pages of this memoir.

This poignant account relates how hatred for the Jewish people was traded for love, hope and peace provided by a loving God.
