The Road to Jenin (DVD)
A well-researched and eye-opening look at the lies in media coverage of a battle in Jenin against terrorists. Filmmaker Pierre Rehov exposes the Palestinians' skill at inventing news, inflating body counts and lying on camera.
This film starts with difficult images of the Netanya bombing on Passover evening and with an account by a victim who lost her husband. Operation Defensive Shield, launched by Israel, is the direct consequence of this terrorist act.
Active images follow: Tsahal tanks go into the camp, dynamiting terrorist suspect houses, fighting in the streets. The fighting was particularly violent in Jenin. Aircraft and helicopters could have bombed the camp, but the army did not do so in order to avoid harming civilians – a reservist explains. Narrow streets meant the tanks could not enter the camp, and 23 Israeli soldiers were killed.
The third part of the film is, without doubt, the most captivating: Rehov goes to Jenin with a Palestinian team and manages to reveal the “lies” of many of the “witnesses to the massacre” he interviews. A shocking indictment!
"The information Rehov provides is based on interviewees who use bona fide images and documents to substantiate their claims." – Camera
"A provocative film about combat between Palestinian militants and the Israeli army." – Greg Myre, The New York Times
"Pierre Rehov demonstrates how our version of the Middle East conflict has been corrupted by the Arab use of reporters as propagandists ..." – Jack Engelhard, author of "Indecent Proposal"
About the Producer
Pierre Rehov is a French-Israeli documentary film producer and director, novelist, journalist and lawyer. Born of Jewish parents in Algeria, Rehov emigrated with his family to France at an early age to escape the growing Muslim anti-Semitism that would eventually morph into what is now popularly known as the “Arab Spring.” Motivated by the apparent staging and coverup of the killing of 12-year-old Palestinian Mohammed al-Dura in 2000, Rehov turned investigative reporter, researching and recording the inconsistencies turned up by his investigation. Rehov’s documentaries include “The Trojan Horse,” uncovering Yasser Arafat’s true designs; “Holy Land: Christians in Peril,” on why Bethlehem no longer is a Christian town; “The Road to Jenin,” exposing the Palestinian “massacre” hoax; “Silent Exodus,” on the expulsion of a million Jews from Arab countries after 1948; and "The Path to Darkness," which documents the step-by-step religious brainwashing of candidates for suicide terrorism, with input from former World War II Japanese kamikazes.
