In My Seat (Paperback)
by Megan Ann Scheibner
Publication Date: January 1, 2012
What does it feel like to have someone die in your place, not once, but twice?
First Officer Steve Scheibner lived out that reality the first time when he became a Christian, and the second time on Sept. 11, 2001. Scheduled to pilot American Airlines Flight 11 that mournful day, he packed his bags and went to bed the night of Sept. 10. When he awoke the following morning, however, he found a rare last-minute schedule change had been made, showing someone else was assigned to fly that plane – the first plane that would hit the World Trade Center on 9/11.
“In My Seat,” Scheibner’s true story as told by his wife Megan, chronicles his experience and reaction to the terrorist hijacking of Flight 11. It is the story of a man prepared by God from boyhood to influence the world by his testimony of two substitutionary deaths – the first by Jesus Christ on the cross and the second by Tom McGuinness in the cockpit seat that should have been his own.
Scheibner’s powerful and moving story of God’s providence will inspire you to examine your own life in light of eternity. Follow the mark of God's fingerprints as He moves in Steve’s life, and walk away from this book encouraged to live like a "Borrowed-Time Believer" rather than a "Someday Saint."
