Can You Be Gay and Christian?: Responding With Love and Truth to Questions About Homosexuality (Paperback)
By Michael L. Brown
The question of how the Church deals with homosexuality has become the great moral and spiritual issue of this generation.
How do we respond to gay people who tell us how much they love the Lord and experience God’s power? How do we answer them when they say that the greatest law is the law of love, and that love requires us to embrace them as they are? What do we do with the argument that the Old Testament laws (such as the prohibition against homosexuality and the dietary laws) no longer apply?
"Can You Be Gay and Christian?" provides solid biblical answers, clearly written and based on sound scholarship, in a compassionate way that causes the reader to wrestle with the issues and discover the biblical truth. The book also provides practical guidelines for ministry and shows readers how they can resist the gay agenda while reaching out to their gay friends and family.
“Dr. Brown once again has stood by the truth of the Bible. The truths that are present and for all to see. The truths that, in this day and age have come under fire time and time again. This book has no content of bashing or hate or ill filled agendas as some would think. The larger issue at play here is that fact that so many want to shape the Bible around their lives instead of shaping their lives around the Bible and the truths contained inside and of the teaching of Jesus Christ. Thank you Dr. Brown for not wavering on the fundamental truths that Christianity is based upon and also for showing that this issue can be spoken about and witnessed about with a humble heart and a loving heart.” – Chad White
“Homosexuality can be healed and removed from lives. As men and women come to Christ, we need to support them in their road to healing, lift them up in prayer, and fight along side them in their spiritual battle. We can love people without loving their sin. Dr. Brown speaks in truth and love of Jesus Christ.” – Leanne Suttles
“I have a loved one who is struggling with the issue of homosexuality. I grew up with strong Christian beliefs that made it very difficult for me to accept this issue as part of my loved one's life. This book explains in easy, understandable language that we, as human beings, are not defined by our seemingly natural urges.... Now that I've learned this, I am on a path to help my loved one feel accepted, loved, protected, and also aware of the Christ-like behavior we, as Christians, are supposed to follow. Thank you Dr. Brown.” – Patricia Barr
